Security Cats

No this is not another of Walt Disney's movie...this is real! Not Hello Kitty but security kitty!

Reported on 21 July 2010 in The NEWPAPER.

Organic rice factory in China trains stray cats to combat rat pests

Mr Liu Jianguo who used to be driver in the company now trains a battlion of cats to protect the rice.

OMG...accordingly Mr Liu's army of cats are split into different companies, there are ambush cats which roam between the crates in the factory and also patrol cats which accompany Mr Liu on his daily petrol around the factory. He has about 100 cats and with a whistle, he can gather them to fall in like a military commander.

Being "organic", the company is afraid that if they use rat poison, the rat's carcasses would contaminate the organic rice. The impossible cages are no help at all.

I happen to find a yamizi blogging about it as well...picture below copied from the blog...(a picture taken from THE NEWPAPER - MOCK COMBAT: A kitten attacks a toy mouse in a drill set by its trainer, Mr Liu Jianguo)

I really cannot imagine how cats can be trained to petrol and rid a premise of rat pests...These cats are even given "barracks" and they even have a mission statement: "Getting rid of rats is our profession, protectiong rice is our mission" LOL...Totally amazing! I wonder when the trainer will start giving the cats ranks...imagine...Recruit cat123 come here!!! LOL....
